Hi everyone from new member in Swansea. Just joined tonight and looking forward to learning about my C5 tourer 1.6 EHDI, airdream, with the EGS 6 gearbox, which I definitely need to learn more about!

Only had the car 6 weeks, and apart from the 'odd' gearbox, I think its a great car. Migrated from a Pug 407 SW to the C5.

You should ensure the engine oil and filter are changed frequently since the 1.6 hdi can be prone to early turbo failure. Depending on the year of the car, it could be every 2 years or 12500 miles if sooner, but 2 years is probably too long. Recent Citroens all seem to be an annual oil change.

Hi, Paul, thanks for the advice. It's a new car (only done 750 miles), so no worries just yet. I think mine's an annual or 12,500 miles though interestingly, the service indicator says 15,250 miles to  the first service. I think Peugeot had the same 1.6 engine, which I gathered from their forums was prone to early turbo failure.

My previous car was 407Sw with the 2.0 diesel, which I changed the oil in every 6 months, and I'll probably do the same with the C5.
