chingdevil Posted February 28, 2014 Posted February 28, 2014 Hi I have just brought, last Saturday a C4 Picasso 2.0i 16v Exclusive 5dr EGS 5 seater. The first time I reversed the vehicle I am sure the door mirrors dipped so you could see the road, they do not move now. Was I dreaming or are they supposed to move like that? Brian Quote
paul.h Posted March 1, 2014 Posted March 1, 2014 Welcome to the forum.I do not know the year of your car but this is from the handbook for a 2010 mark 1 C4 in the section on mirrors and possibly you need to leave the mirror selection switch in the middle position:- System which provides a view of theground during parking manoeuvresin reverse gear.Programming With the engine running, engagereverse gear. Select and adjust the left-handand right-hand mirrors in succession. The adjustment is stored immediately. Quote
chingdevil Posted March 5, 2014 Author Posted March 5, 2014 Sorry I should have said it is a 2007 model Quote
paul.h Posted March 5, 2014 Posted March 5, 2014 The handbook for a 2007 has something similar on page 85 as follows, so it looks as if you just need to move the mirror selection switch (1) from the central position for it to work again. Control (2) is the mirror direction round control with the arrows. :-REAR VIEW MIRRORSADJUSTMENTThis operates with the ignitionswitched on.From the driver ’s seat position, selectthe rear view mirror by movingcontrol 1 to the left or right, thenadjust the rear view mirror in thefour directions by acting on control2.Demisting-deicing of the rear viewmirrors is coupled with that for therear screen.REAR VIEW MIRRORSFOLDBACKWhen the vehicle is parked, the rearview mirrors can be folded back eithermanually or electrically.ElectricallyFrom the central position, a pressto the rear on control 1 folds therear view mirrors back. The opposite movement is obtainedby pressing again on therear of the control.Electrically and automaticallyThe rear view mirrors also foldback automatically when you lockthe doors. The rear view mirrors redeploywhen you unlock the vehicle, unlessthe foldback was performedmanually. In this case, you haveto press on the rear of the controlto deploy them.Note : The automatic foldbackof the rear view mirrors can bedeactivated. Contact a CITROËNdealer. Adjusting the indexedposition of the driver ’s andpassenger’s rear view mirrorsWith the engine running :- Select the rear view mirror usingcontrol 1.- Engage reverse gear, the glassof the rear view mirror positionsitself automatically to give a bettersight of the pavement.- If necessary, adjust your rearview mirror to your preference bymeans of the electrical control 2.This position is then memorised.Deactivation of the rear viewmirror indexing functionTo deactivate the function, movecontrol 1 to the central position. If you do not have a handbook they can be seen and pages printed (mouse right click is easiest way) from the service.citroen site, documentation de bord, select language, select your car and model year. http://service.citroen.com/ddb/ Quote
chingdevil Posted March 6, 2014 Author Posted March 6, 2014 Thanks for that Paul much appreciated, I will give that a try in the morning Quote
paul.h Posted March 10, 2014 Posted March 10, 2014 Since posting, I have found our C5 has an auto indexing passenger door mirror as part of the parking sensors option. Just need to keep the door mirror selection switch in the left position for the passenger door mirror. Then when reverse is selected the mirror glass automatically turns down so the kerb can be seen and if needed its position can be adjusted. When forward is selected again the mirror glass returns to its normal position Quote
