Hi

I have just brought, last Saturday a C4 Picasso 2.0i 16v Exclusive 5dr EGS 5 seater. The first time I reversed the vehicle I am sure the door mirrors dipped so you could see the road, they do not move now. Was I dreaming or are they supposed to move like that?

Welcome to the forum.

I do not know the year of your car but this is from the handbook for a 2010 mark 1 C4 in the section on mirrors and possibly you need to leave the mirror selection switch in the middle position:-

System which provides a view of the

ground during parking manoeuvres

in reverse gear.

Programming

With the engine running, engage

reverse gear.

Select and adjust the left-hand

and right-hand mirrors in succession.

The adjustment is stored immediately.

The handbook for a 2007 has something similar on page 85 as follows, so it looks as if you just need to move the mirror selection switch (1) from the central position for it to work again. Control (2) is the mirror direction round control with the arrows. :-

REAR VIEW MIRRORS

ADJUSTMENT

This operates with the ignition

switched on.

From the driver ’s seat position, select

the rear view mirror by moving

control 1 to the left or right, then

adjust the rear view mirror in the

four directions by acting on control

2.

Demisting-deicing of the rear view

mirrors is coupled with that for the

rear screen.

REAR VIEW MIRRORS

FOLDBACK

When the vehicle is parked, the rear

view mirrors can be folded back either

manually or electrically.

Electrically

From the central position, a press

to the rear on control 1 folds the

rear view mirrors back.

The opposite movement is obtained

by pressing again on the

rear of the control.

Electrically and automatically

The rear view mirrors also fold

back automatically when you lock

the doors.

The rear view mirrors redeploy

when you unlock the vehicle, unless

the foldback was performed

manually. In this case, you have

to press on the rear of the control

to deploy them.

Note :

The automatic foldback

of the rear view mirrors can be

deactivated. Contact a CITROËN

dealer.

Adjusting the indexed

position of the driver ’s and

passenger’s rear view mirrors

With the engine running :

- Select the rear view mirror using

control 1.

- Engage reverse gear, the glass

of the rear view mirror positions

itself automatically to give a better

sight of the pavement.

- If necessary, adjust your rear

view mirror to your preference by

means of the electrical control 2.

This position is then memorised.

Deactivation of the rear view

mirror indexing function

To deactivate the function, move

control 1 to the central position.

If you do not have a handbook they can be seen and pages printed (mouse right click is easiest way) from the service.citroen site, documentation de bord, select language, select your car and model year. http://service.citroen.com/ddb/

Since posting, I have found our C5 has an auto indexing passenger door mirror as part of the parking sensors option. Just need to keep the door mirror selection switch in the left position for the passenger door mirror. Then when reverse is selected the mirror glass automatically turns down so the kerb can be seen and if needed its position can be adjusted. When forward is selected again the mirror glass returns to its normal position
