5punch Posted March 3, 2014 Posted March 3, 2014 Hello and welcome to my C5 code problems! I'm getting the codes in the topic title on a regular basis. They register as error codes and pending error codes. The engine warning telltale is on as well as 'SERVICE'. I clear the codes and all is well for a few miles before they come on again. A 'pollution fault' has registered on occasion but I am mystified by the U0103 which seems to be a gear selector issue. The car is a 2004 C5 2.2Hdi Estate, auto. I've read the earlier posts on P1352 by the way. Thanks5punch Quote
paul.h Posted March 3, 2014 Posted March 3, 2014 Welcome to the forum. What code reader are you using since 2004 was the year diesels had to be OEBD compliant so your car may be borderline and you have not mentioned any problems from the gearbox. From the list of codes on the Petrol Diesel and LPG section gives P1352 Ignition Coil A Primary Circuit Malfunction - which would apply to a petrol engine or possibly it is a glow plug problem. An internet search gives for U0103Lost Communication With Gear Shift Module However. if the U was a P gives P0103 Mass or Volume Air Flow Circuit High Input. It may be worthwhile trying a different code reader or a dealer type Lexia. I have moved your post in to a subsection since ones outside of one do not show after a few days and are difficult to find. I did have a one off gear issue actually, when I couldn't shift the selector from 'P' for a second or two.I have to get an MOT this month, so I'll get my engineer to run a test as well. Quote
paul.h Posted March 4, 2014 Posted March 4, 2014 It will be good to know if your engineer's code reader gives the same results since your reader at £11.99 from Amazon is a good low cost buy if it gives correct results.http://www.amazon.co.uk/CAN-Bus-Trouble-Diagnose-Diagnostic-Scanner/dp/B001CBBY7O The Service light could be anything - I have seen it when the battery has been flat, the car has been stalled, from the front brake pad wear indicator wires. qman3428 Posted March 4, 2014 Posted March 4, 2014 I had the gear change issue, it was a lazy relay and had to be changed. Quote
5punch Posted March 18, 2014 Author Posted March 18, 2014 just to update on this:My engineers code reader didn't bring up the same codes as mine. He got just one: P0380 [pre-heating relay circuit].He cleared that and all appears well. The car passed the MOT as well. My reader still shows a pending fault U0103 which may point to qman3428's suggestion. Quote
