Mike O. Posted March 29, 2014 Posted March 29, 2014 I have just bought a 2013 ex-demo C5 2.0 HDi Exclusive Tourer with eMyWay, Bluetooth etc.Has anyone managed to get rid of the terrible echo the person on the other end hears? It happens every time I talk on the iPhone 5 connected via car Bluetooth. Also, where is the microphone? Any help will be most welcome. Mike O. Quote
paul.h Posted March 29, 2014 Posted March 29, 2014 There was a recent post on fitting a microphone to a mark 3 C5 and it was in the light fitting above the windscreen.http://www.citroen-owners-club.co.uk/citroen/topic/20982-c5-fitting-a-bluetooth-mic/ Quote
Mike O. Posted March 30, 2014 Author Posted March 30, 2014 Thanks Paul, What I meant was, that the mic is already there somewhere, I just don't know where it is.BTW, I don't think the mic is the problem. The person talking to me hears his/her own voice with a significant delay, which makes conversation difficult.I can hear them very well, they can hear me very well, but this echo of their own voice makes it difficult for them.I am sure some of the members must have struck this problem and found a solution...Fingers crossed! paul.h Posted March 30, 2014 Posted March 30, 2014 The original micro phone is in the light fitting above the windscreen, in the linked post it was so the OP could fit one there. Quote
Parkesie Posted March 30, 2014 Posted March 30, 2014 Have you tried it with a phone other than the i phone? Quote
Mike O. Posted March 31, 2014 Author Posted March 31, 2014 Not yet, but if the dealer installing a towbar tomorrow doesn't fix it I will. Quote
Parkesie Posted March 31, 2014 Posted March 31, 2014 Ive had a stereo that just didnt like my phone took updating the software in the stereo and on the phone to sort it out.worked fine with other phones. Quote
Mike O. Posted April 1, 2014 Author Posted April 1, 2014 My iPhone 5 works fine with my ancient BlueAnt ST3.We will soon see, or rather hear, if the software update promised by the dealer fixes the problem. Quote
Mike O. Posted April 4, 2014 Author Posted April 4, 2014 Problem over. The dealer has fixed it. No more echo on Bluetooth.. Car Bluetooth software update did the trick. Quote
Ed67 Posted May 14, 2014 Posted May 14, 2014 Hi Mike, Did the dealer update the bluetooth software on your car's radio system? Was it a matter of insert software CD, push some buttons and done? How much did it cost you? When my phone is connected in my car (2009 C5 with MyWay), it won't let me in the address book anymore; the option is grayed out since (I think) a couple of weeks. First I thought it was my iphone, but others phones show same problem. I can't find any info anywhere about this issue. Many thanks,Ed Quote
paul.h Posted May 14, 2014 Posted May 14, 2014 Welcome to the forum. I would check with your dealer, but I think you do not pay for a software update. When a service is done or even at a MOT, the dealer checks for updates. http://www.bentleysmotorswarrington.citroen.co.uk/offers/owners/all/citroen-mot-offer-just-45/?newsId=1166283This is from my dealer's Owners Offers page and MOT. Ed67 Posted May 14, 2014 Posted May 14, 2014 Great thanks Paul. I think however that the cost here in Ireland will be multiplied ;-)I will drop over at a local dealer and ask them to check the software in my car. Many thanks,Ed Quote
paul.h Posted May 14, 2014 Posted May 14, 2014 A check on a dealer in Belfast has a similar offer but a pre MOT check for £40 including any updates http://www.charleshurstbelfast.citroen.co.uk/offers/owners/all/pre-mot-check-offer-40/?newsId=1137967 Quote
Mike O. Posted May 15, 2014 Author Posted May 15, 2014 My car is under warranty, so it didn't cost me anything. No idea what they have done - the principal said they updated the GPS (the map was old) and Bluetooth software.BTW, the Traffic Messaging and Speed/Red Light Camera Warnings do not work.I will look into it before the next service. Regards, Mike O. Quote
Ed67 Posted May 18, 2014 Posted May 18, 2014 Thanks for the feedback Mike. Once I am in the dealer's neighborhood I am going to ask them about this and see what they can offer. Ed Quote
