Hello peeps.

So it's time to say goodbye to my convertible and get a people carrier as my family is growing. without a doubt I want a C4 Picasso 1.6 diesel auto around 2007 to 2009 plate. with a budget of £6,000 I could pick one up with about 60,000 miles on the clock.

I have done my home work and looked at all the different specs such as VTR, Air dream etc etc. Also looking at both 5 and 7 seat versions.

and I'm no better off than when i first started looking about which one to go for.

there's only 4 of us so the 5 seater will be plenty and i do prefer the look of it, but i also like the 7 seat option for when me and my mates go camping.

then there's all the different levels of equipment and and luxury's

I'm going to a local citroen dealer (at some point) and take one out for a spin just not sure which one although im guessing the 5 & 7 seater,s drive the same anyway.

Soooo if anyone has any advice or tips or just want to tell why the 5 seater is better than the 7 or vice versa. All comments are welcome.

Thanks

Chris

I do not know how far you have got with this but a high mileage 1.6 hdi may not be the best choice unless it has had frequent oil/filter changes using the right spec oil since this engine is prone to turbo failure. The cost of repairs then overcome any fuel economy savings compared to other size engines. Also if it has an exhaust particulate filter, this may be due for cleaning/replacing and the eolys fluid topping up in a couple of years if at 60k miles (check the maintenance manual for the frequency/mileage interval). Make sure the autobox works fully, if you need an auto.
