seefive Posted July 17, 2014 Posted July 17, 2014 I thought Ford used the identical Peugeot hdi engines in the Mondeo (hdi becomes tdsi), but they seem to have worked some magic on it. The numbers are better than Citroen- better claimed MPG ( although i don't believe those numbers anyway), but undeniable is their 163ps econetic emissions 119g = £30 road tax!! I guess this is the dreaded stop-start device Not bad for big barge like the Mondeo... Quote
paul.h Posted July 17, 2014 Posted July 17, 2014 You can just imagine the fuel economy test, strip everything out of the car, driver (if one is needed) kneeling on the carpetless floor, no spare in the boot, all seams taped over to reduce drag, nothing electrical on, heated booth, may be a tail wind if allowed, skinny tyres. Then when you buy one with all the essential extras, lucky to get 45 mpg or about 160g CO2/km. Quote
