citroeneddie Posted September 25, 2006 Posted September 25, 2006 Ordered insurance with Churchill start of September, still no documents in post, so I rang to chase. 'Sent out 7th September , sir, will have to charge you £9.45 for duplicates' Is this a ploy to make extra money? Why do I have to pay for nothing I have done wrong? Why not send out recorded delivery? 'We don't make much profit on internet sales as discount applied, sir' What a joke  Got you by the short and curlies as amount is too small to contest. Quote
Johndouglas Posted September 25, 2006 Posted September 25, 2006 My reply to them would be - If you insist on my paying for duplicate documents I haven't received, I'll pay for one months insurance, then find another company. Quote
citroeneddie Posted September 25, 2006 Author Posted September 25, 2006 Thanks John, I never thought of that. It seems we are now in the world of charging for duplicates for anything. I suppose there will be a cancellation fee etc, but I will remember for next time. Quote
Johndouglas Posted September 25, 2006 Posted September 25, 2006 But maybe threatened with the loss of your custom, they'll waive the duplicate fee. They'll try anything to get a few more notes out of you. Quote
citroeneddie Posted September 26, 2006 Author Posted September 26, 2006 E mailled Churchill and told them I wasn't happy. Customer Services rang me to apologise and to refund the charge. Should bl**dy well think so  Quote
c4owner Posted December 12, 2006 Posted December 12, 2006 First I've heard of Churchill doing that but they are very competitive across all ages I've built a comparison guide for the C4 only here @ Links to affiliate links not allowed however Insurance is a challenge everytime you come to renew and 'cheapest' isn't always best Saying that the best deal I got at renewal this year (wanted Business use and some companies don't offer it) was via Local Broker (Budget Insurance online) and had no issues with a claim earlier this year - service was second to none ***** You cannot link to pages with affiliate links in to make profit, no matter how nice you dress it up *** Edited by Glen Quote
myglaren Posted September 7, 2007 Posted September 7, 2007 I had my Xantia insured through Churchills - actually through my bank but Churchills held the policy. They were fine until the car was written off (by an 'anonymous' third party) then despite the protected no claims bonus, the policy increased by 50%.Apart from that there were no problems whatsoever with them. I'm currently with Liverpool Victoria and have not had any claims and had no problems with them either, they are always most helpfull. I sometimes insure my youngest daughter on my car for a week or two and they are always very esy to deal with and implement the insurance straight away at a very reasonable costThe only thing is that on renewal of the policy I never seem to receive my certificate. On the other hand a phone call always fixes that without any fee. They say the documents are always dispatched the day following the renewal but they never come. Whenever I change a vehicle or insure my daughter, the documents arrive the following day. Odd but not of any great moment. Must remember to phone them for the last lot! Quote
Guest CHRISTOPHER Posted October 21, 2007 Posted October 21, 2007 Hi everyone - Just joined - as l will be getting my first C1 tomorrow - just a note on lnsurance. and members asking what you would expect to pay to insure a C1. Well l too am insured with L V and previous to buying this new C1 l have had a 205 GTi which l have had since 1991 with a mileage of only 60,000 on the clock - so if I am honest i am sorry to see it go, but in the last few years my annual mileage has only been in the region of 3,000 - with my distance to work being only 1 mile, so I thought it was about time I went for a smaller car that was more economical to run- so this is the reason I have gone for the C1. I contacted L V last week to see what the insurance would be- I think that as my road tax now was £180.00 and the C1 was going down to £35.00 I also expected that my Insurance would go down from about £240.00 to about £100.00 !! but no such luck - the best they could offer me was £176.00 as a loyal client. So I thought l would phone around and get some more quotes - every company seemed to be coming up with a similar price with only Tesco Insurance beating it by a few pounds, so I thought I had better stay where I was. so I contacted LV saying I would agree to their quote of £176.00.so yesterday my new certificate arrived with a letter saying my premium would be £240.00. so tomorrow it's another call to LV to see whats gone wrong - ha well the joys of insurance Chris Quote
