Hi there, I'm brand new to the forum and have a problem with my citroen c4 wing mirror puddle light.

The driver side one works fine but the passenger side one doesn't. I have enquired with Citroen who say the light itself can't be replaced so have to buy a whole wing mirror unit.

To me this seems daft, having to buy a whole new wing mirror unit for just the light.

Does anyone know any other way of replacing the bulb, any other steps I can take to try fix it or even how to take the mirror off so I can maybe try and pry open the cover and maybe replace the bulb and try that way.

Its a electrically folding one if that make any difference.

Many thanks in advance

Welcome to the forum.

You may be able to dismantle the mirror whilst still on the car (assuming it is a 2010 on model C4). First remove the mirror glass by adjusting it to as far in as possible, then use a tool to prise it from the rear clips, undo the electrical connectors and the glass can be removed. The top coloured cover should just unclip forwards by undoing 2 clips revealed in the top corners with the glass removed. Remove 3 bolts which hold the motor in place so it can be removed. The front bezel (mirror surround) is held by 3 clips and once removed you ought to be able to see the diode light fitting in the base of the mirror and it should unclip. If you wish to remove the complete mirror from the door, the door card has to be removed to get to the nut that holds the mirror.
