PICASSOCONVERT Posted August 8, 2014 Posted August 8, 2014 I am sure you will all tell me not to bother...................but the only error code I am left with having played with Lexia over recent weeks is: Injection permanent fault P0380 - pre/post heating relay circuit short circuit to positive And I am dead keen to cure this - just so I can say I have no faults (although this state probably won't last long). So it's a 2003 2.2HDi estate. I replaced the relay which sits under the main ECU (because it was an easy and cheap job!). I then planned to replace the glow plugs (as they were cheap as chips at Euro Car Parts) and check the wiring. However, the RTA manual makes only passing reference to glow plugs. I now believe they are down the back of the engine underneath the EGR gubbins. Is this correct? If so, is there an easy way to get the old ones out and put the new ones in (because it doesn't look as if there is to me!). Thanks for any help. David Quote
paul.h Posted August 8, 2014 Posted August 8, 2014 To get to them you need to move the air ducting and the egr valve at the back of the engine. Following is Citroen's procedure: Remove the engine cover .Remove the battery cover .Disconnect :The battery negative terminal (follow a disconnection/reconnection procedure from the Common Problems post)The air flow meter electrical connectorRemove the air filter including the air flow meter and ducting At the back of the engine remove :The 2 bolts under the egr valve holding itThe nut under the heat exchanger holding it to the engine block2 screws under the ducting - it is not clear what these are holding from the pictureThe fixing screws of the ducting to the heat exchanger and the air distribution boxPull away the assembly of the ducting, heat exchanger and EGR valve.CAUTION : Recover the EGR valve seal. Use a mirror to carry out following.Remove the 4 nuts holding the supply strip to the glow plugs, the supply strip and then the glow plugs RefittingProceed in the reverse order to removal. Glow plug torque setting 10 Nm +/- 2 Nm. Quote
PICASSOCONVERT Posted August 11, 2014 Author Posted August 11, 2014 Paul Thanks very much for the information. Having read what's invovled I think I'll put the new glow plugs to one side for the time being! Best fittted at the same time as the EGR needs removing me thinks. David Quote
