JAGO Posted September 8, 2014 Posted September 8, 2014 Hi all, New to the forum, and just recently aquired a Berlingo from my dad (now he has purchased a jag) so ill be using it for general shifting of things and getting to work and back. (now i can keep the miles down of my Focus ST) its a 54 plate Berlingo Multispace in Silver, Diesel. Couple of things.... My Dad mentioned that the RAC (i Think) told him about not to let the fuel in the tank get below a quarter full as it can damage the fuel pump... how true this is i don't know... (one of the reasons i came on here to see if it was just pure BS) The other is apparently the rear hatch likes to fly open if it isnt locked ? but this has never happened to me whilst using it.any other little snippets i need to keep my eye out for during my ownership would be greatly appreciated. Cheers JAGO Quote
paul.h Posted September 8, 2014 Posted September 8, 2014 Welcome to the forum. I would not worry about the fuel level going down below a quarter, as long as it does not run out so the pump could run dry and also then you would have to try and prime it. As for the hatch door, you could try to see if it is locking fully and if it does unlock by itself then maybe the switch on it needs cleaning or replacing. If it is the 1.6 hdi then they like frequent oil/filter changes with the correct oil to help the turbo last. Quote
