Hi I have a 2009 hdi and it's just started jumping not all the time but enough to be concerning I can be happily driving along when it is like foot tapping on the accelerator I have an idea what I think it is but was wondering what you guys think is there a common fault on the c5 that would cause this .

Hi the most obvious thing to check is have you put petrol in by mistake if not sure check your receipt I've done it myself with a Renault Laguna took it to the garage even they didn't fathom it out

try changing your fuel filter as the bio diesel they sell at the pumps now are clogging the filters up and reducing the lifespan of the filter. a call to the parts department at any citroen dealer and they will tell you that fuel filter sales have at least doubled

I bought the car last year from an independent it was supposed to have a full service when I bought it but doubt it so I've ordered a full set of filters from eurocarparts less than £20 for air oil and fuel at the moment .

I also changed my car recently which was supposed to have just had a full service. Being a sceptical old git, I took the top of the fuel filter to see how new it looked. It looked to be the original filter.
