zd2006 Posted September 28, 2006 Posted September 28, 2006 The wind or stone deflector under the engine has split. How important is this piece of PVC? I have drill a couple of holes and tied it back on to the undercarriage using a rope. At speed I can feel it warble. Am I better off removing it altogether? <_< Quote

Johndouglas Posted October 1, 2006 Posted October 1, 2006 If there wasn't a good reason for fitting the lower engine tray, why did Citroen bother? Maybe the reason has something to do with aerodynamics. Anybody else know? Quote
spanners Posted October 1, 2006 Posted October 1, 2006 it there to protect the sump drive shafts etc !! but if you see anything in the road just dont hit it ?? lol  Quote
kfk Posted October 1, 2006 Posted October 1, 2006 I would hazzard a guess it assists with aerodynamics which in turn will assist fuel economy and perormance. But more than likely it has nothing to do with that and is more likely to assist the vehicle in achieving noise level tests. Most vehicles have to do a drive past at a certain speed and have a noise meter reading taken. The shield would reduce transmission and engine noise under these circumstances. So do you need it......probably not, but make sure you have found a way to stop the inner wheel arches flapping around. Quote
