Hi guys

Never ending problems with my c8

After spending 1300 £ at the citroen stealer now the car will not start

The car has had a new starter motor new airbag module new dozer valve and wiring sorted

Collected the car and was ok for two weeks

Then the car started to surge as if it was running out of fuel , after stopping in my driveway the car would not start :(

I v tried the following unplug airflow sensor , new filters where fitted a month ago ,

Since I have bought the car I had the occasional surge , but when plugged in the diagnostics never got errors

Only once said rail pressure sensor but when they check the parameters it was reading fine !!!

Now I'm panicking it might be an injector stuck

Can anyone help ???

Hi paul

Yes that was my post , the water ingress was caused by a blockage in the aircon drain

And according to citroen the airbag module was flooded and caused the no starting

However this is a diff problem

Car was fixed , while driving started surging , loosing power then once parked , it wouldn't start . Although this morning it started it still drives really bad

'Yes that was my post' - sorry, I should have noticed this.

You have not mentioned if there are any fault messages, the engine management light is lit, if there is more smoke than normal from the exhaust or if the temperature gauge is showing normally. Possibilities for the latest problem could be anything and you seem to have eliminated the air flow meter by disconnecting it (this should have made the car run worse if it was ok and run better if it was not ok). You could drain the fuel filter a bit to see if there is any water in it, try a different garage for the fuel in case it was a bad batch, check when the timing belt was replaced in case there is a problem with it (the C8 has a known problem of them failing early) and if possible have a look under its top cover to check its condition. Check any hoses/pipes for leaks/damage/splits. Check the inlet pipe to the air filter for a blockage such as leaves. Check the exhaust for excess smoke in case it is the egr valve. Then you are probably back in to a diagnostic check. If you do not have a code reader it may pay to get one that does some live data such as this from Gendan http://www.gendan.co.uk/product_FXNT200.html (only £38.95) or a Lexia to put on a lap top.

BACK TO SQUARE ONE !!!!

The reason I had said egr valve is because citroen suggested it they said if valve stuck open car will not start !

Unfortunately the car is still developing the same symptoms :((

Sometime for no apparent reasons but random , it won't start , or will take long time to start.

Also randomly the car will kangaroo as if fuel supply was starving from rail , again , no engine light on dash :(( will kangaroo for a while , from ten min to half a day , then back to normal !!!!i don't know what else to do ????????????????????????

My friend who is a good mechanic suggested one injector staying open and fuel pressure dropping . Surely the car would smoke and rattle , I do not get any of that although when the car is kangorooing I can smell non burned fumes , my other friend also a mechanic suggested tthe rail fuel switch or tank breather , again , shouldn't the car smoke like hell ,

He say fuel switch , as the circuit empties overnight and car will take long time to start !!!

ANY IDEAS FELLAS ????

If you are an AA member or suchlike try calling them next time it won't go and get them to do a diagnotic, similar problems with our 807 was due to a failing camshaft sensor, difficult to change as has to be done by feel with eyes closed and don't drop its little securing screw.
