stimpy Posted November 3, 2014 Posted November 3, 2014 hello im replacing a pipe on power steering xantia 2l hdi (too corroded for mot) problem is the way the metal pipes fits to the rubber section, is this permenantly fixed as the ends are not hex to fit spanner on or do i have to replace the whole bitim hoping to just replace the metal pipe theres normal spanner fitting one end but un sure how to undo the pipe where it joins the flexible rubber part Quote
paul.h Posted November 3, 2014 Posted November 3, 2014 If the pipe is on the supply to the steering then it may be under pressure and need a proper crimped type of fitting between the hose and pipe, but if on the return side after the steering then the pressure will probably be low enough for something like a jubilee clip. I have read that Citroen specialist Pleiades can repair the pipes for about £60 since Citroen no longer supply the parts. Quote
