seefive Posted November 29, 2014 Posted November 29, 2014 2006 c5 exclusive hatch - nearside rear window came off its runner a couple of months ago, and I got it fixed by a mobile mechanic whom I have known and been using for a few years now. The fix was to put in a new retaining pin - a small white plastic thing which somehow holds the glass in the clamp. It's now come off again, so I'm a bit confused what's caused this so soon. It was definitely working correctly after he fixed it, but the symptoms are exactly the same again - regulator goes up and down , and will raise the glass, but not lower it. any ideas? I have read the haynes manual, but don't understand how it's supposed to grip the glass.something about 2 parts, but the replacement pin i bought last time was a single part. like the photo in haynes. thanks Quote
paul.h Posted November 30, 2014 Posted November 30, 2014 The parts diagrams show a retaining pin that looks as if it goes in a hole in the middle of the glass to hold it to the lifting mechanism. So maybe it has come out again. The pin part no. is 922751. On the citroencarparts.net site they are £8.50 for a pack of 10 - there are only 2 on the car though. Quote
seefive Posted December 6, 2014 Author Posted December 6, 2014 ok window is attached again now, but the regulator is going berserk. Sometimes goes down when you hit the up button, but mainly goes up all the way and "bounces" back again. No obstructions, same story from door switch or drivers switch. All other windows fine. Tried a BSI reset twice, following the pinned notice on this site, no joy Looks like an expensive trip to the garage looms, unless there are any other ideas? Quote
paul.h Posted December 6, 2014 Posted December 6, 2014 If you look in the Common Problems pinned post, there is a fix for the bouncing that involves removing the window fuses. Quote
seefive Posted December 7, 2014 Author Posted December 7, 2014 OK I tried this - no joy. I could only find one fuse to remove - "electric windows rear" - don't know what the second fuse mentioned in the pinned post refers to.. Quote
paul.h Posted December 7, 2014 Posted December 7, 2014 A link is also included where Mike Lane had a problem and his post is copied below: Gosh!! it seems to work. On my 2005 (facelift) C5 VTR 1.6HDi I removed fuse 5 (Does both front doors) waited a few secs and plugged it back in and, lo and behold, after doing the anti-pinch routine, I can control ALL windows from the driver's switches!Advice - read the owners manual to find which fuses are for which door. seefive Posted December 7, 2014 Author Posted December 7, 2014 yes - i don't think anyone's covered a rear window here I just tried again . taking out fuse F5 and F6 to cover front and rear, and again it didn't fix it. I have to conclude the regulator's had it. Unfortunately rear ones seem to be about twice the price of fronts for some weird reason. We'll see what the Citroen garage comes up with... Quote
seefive Posted June 9, 2015 Author Posted June 9, 2015 Finally got this sorted Bought a regulator with motor from ebay/breaker for £30. It took my mobile technician about half an hour to fit, and works perfectly, for very small cost.. ( Citroen wanted £400!) Quote
