Hi all. New to the forum, so hello. Also after a bit of info/ guidance please.
Wife has got a Xsara Piccaso Exlusive 2.0 HDi of 2002 vintage. She has had it a couple of months. Not a new car so she expects a few issues. Clutch gone, been replaced, few bulbs gone in dash... sorted but one issue I cant seem to figure. Temp of the engine only ever goes up one notch on the gauge. all the pipes are warm under the bonnet. However, the heater only blows cold. Got the temp set at 28 degrees.... still cold.
Remedial work carried out. made sure water topped up. changed the thermostat.after change the gauge now goes up to 2nd notch. bled the system via the bleed on top of the thermostat housing and the top hose to the heater matrix. Both the top and bottom hoses to the matrix definatly warm/hot. I can hold things quite hot so I deem it warm, yet the missus said it burnt her hand. bottom hose to the matrix there is a metal unit ( dont know its use or what it is called) and the hose the other side is warm/ hot. Made sure the A/C is off and the eco is on. short of me going  http://www.cxoc.net/Smileys/cxoc/uglystupid2.gif I must be overlooking something, just dont know what.
Any help gratefully received.

Welcome to the forum.

I guess with the exclusive you have automatic heating. If so it is likely one of the 2 electric motors that controls the air flaps has failed or its connection to the flap has broken. A new motor will be around £60 based on the price of one for a C5 a couple of years ago. These motors are on the right side of the heater unit, possibly high up. There is also one on the air recirculation flap. It should take 30 minutes to replace one so it should be an easy job.
