Simple Posted January 17, 2015 Posted January 17, 2015 Hello,My handbrake handle has a lot of play as a result of the slackness in the handbrake cable. I saw below the car, the cable coming from the handbrake handle is attached to two cables coming from each of the back wheels, but only one of them has an adjustable nut. Is there any other place where I can tighten the cable to remove the slackness in the handbrake cable? Regards, Simple. Quote
Simple Posted January 18, 2015 Author Posted January 18, 2015 OK, no replies!! However, I found the problem. It is not that the cable needing adjustment. It is that the cable is worn out near the tire (due to coming in contact with it) which led to dirt leaking inside and restricting the movement of the cable, due to rust and dirt and possibly cut wires inside the cable. In short, a cable replacement is needed. Any recommendations for online cheaper parts source?? Quote
paul.h Posted January 18, 2015 Posted January 18, 2015 These people seem to offer a discount of around 15%. They are a Peugeot dealer in Barrow http://www.citroencarparts.net/If you ask your local Citroen dealer they may also offer a discount if you ask or are a regular customer - particularly if you do not need the part next day since they can then get it at a lower price.
