tims84 Posted January 24, 2015 Posted January 24, 2015 Hi, Does anyone know what would cause the trip mileage recorder to reset itself without the reset button being pushed? I bought a brand new DS3 last month and have clocked a total of 1500 miles. I have no need to measure my journeys so haven't hit the reset button yet. Up to a couple of days back the trip recorder was displaying the exact same figure as the total mileage. Upon starting up the car the next time, it was displaying 0. It doesn't really bother me, however I'm interested to know what would cause this in case it is an underlying fault. Many thanks Tim Quote
paul.h Posted January 25, 2015 Posted January 25, 2015 On all our Citroens the trip computer has been reset by a long push of the button on the end of the wiper stalk with a quick push just changing the display - miles since last reset, mpg current, mpg average since last reset, miles left on fuel to empty at current mpg. The distance limit is 9999 km (about 6300 miles) and then it stops going up - it would need an extra digit - so it needs to be reset. The trip distance on the speedo I think does not go that high so maybe 1500 miles is its limit and then it starts back at 0 miles Quote
tims84 Posted January 25, 2015 Author Posted January 25, 2015 Thanks Paul. It's the trip distance on the speedo that I'm talking about and not the one on the trip computer. Just seems like a weird figure to reset itself on! Quote
Porsche430 Posted January 25, 2015 Posted January 25, 2015 Being a brand new car, if you have any concerns take it straight back to the dealership. Quote
