Hi, to add to the long list of problems with this car I now have a passengers rear door that will not stay open!! Removed casing under the upper hindge to find it full of water/muck! Problem occured after a frosty morning were both rear doors would not open fully! Gave them a little encouragement only to be met with a disturbingly creaking noise ! Gradually the door resistance has gone??

Does anyone know of a fix for this or is a new hinge require as it seems to be a complete unit with the normal hindge brackets! If so is there anywhere I can replace cheaply ?

If it is the door stay that is rusty/dirty, you can probably just give it a good clean and then regrease it. Initially something like wd40 may help to free it off. Greasing these on any car is something that needs doing occasionally to keep the rust at bay and stop them creaking.
