Rox1 Posted February 7, 2015 Posted February 7, 2015 Hi, all, anti-pollution warning light came on, took it to a Citreon Dealer for a diagnostic, told it was the EGR valve, had that replaced by another garage because of cost. Anti-pollution warning light no longer on but I still have what I would call a stuttering of the engine or missing until it warms up then its okish. Initially this stuttering was made worse by me putting the air con on, but now that seems to make no difference. It's due to go back to the garage on monday, but as anyone got any ideas why it is like this PLEASE. Have spent so much money on it lately really getting fed up with it now. Its a C2 HDi 1.4 :( Quote
Porsche430 Posted February 7, 2015 Posted February 7, 2015 I do hope the garage who fitted the EGR are having a look for free as they were the last to touch it! It's hard to say as one would jump straight to problems with the EGR as it was recently fiddled with. I wouldn't like to speculate without having the vehicle to hand to carry out a diagnostic session using a computer. Quote
paul.h Posted February 8, 2015 Posted February 8, 2015 Welcome to the forum. egr valves are not meant to open until the engine is warmed up, so unless they have not used a genuine new part, or there is an air leak, or possibly a leak on the vacuum hoses to it (splits are common where they join to actuators and these can be the problem and not the egr valve or a turbo fault that has been flagged up), or maybe everything was not put back correctly, then the problem may not be related to the egr. Such as a coolant sensor giving the wrong engine temperature so the fueling is not correct - to find something like this may need another diagnostic check. Quote
