jonsberlingo Posted February 24, 2015 Posted February 24, 2015 (edited) Hi im jon and i have a berlingo 2.0hdi,i decided to join as this is probably a good place for nerds :)Im mainly here to rattle some experts heads on my problem.I have a 55 plate berlingo van that all of a sudden has developed smoking and lack of power issues .After advice and a good tinker i have come to the conclusion that injector 3 is knackered .The berlingo runs on a siemens system if this helps ??.My question is will any siemens injector be fine as a replacement or will i have to match up the part number code 9652173780 ? Will a dreaded remap be needed to match the new injector ? any help will be much appreciated in advance Edited February 24, 2015 by jonsberlingo Quote
paul.h Posted February 24, 2015 Posted February 24, 2015 Welcome to the forum. The parts diagrams for a 2.0 hdi 90 bhp with Siemens assembly give the injector Citroen part no. as 1980F0 or 1980Y0 if > 2years old. However, this should be checked using the car VIN. The procedures make no mention of needing to code the injector to the car. The injector prices seem high at about £500 new, so you could check the cost of reconditioning the existing one or try a breakers for a used one. These people list the part no. you have given http://www.apdiesels.co.uk/diesel-injectors/siemens-injectors/and as an example of a used one on ebay but the problem with used ones is knowing how good they are http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/2005-CITROEN-BERLINGO-360241-2-0-LITRE-DIESEL-SIEMENS-FUEL-INJECTOR-9652173780-/361184368236 Other possibilities of smoking include an air leak and an egr valve fault.
