Hi,

New to this site.

I have a Xsara Picasso 1.6 56 reg. I have taken out the old radio and fitted a Kenwood DAB radio. I want to reconnect my remote, which is a stick to the RHS of the steering wheel. I have phoned around various radio and after market dealers and I get asked loads of questions about the current wiring set up. I described the car, year etc and the type of radio fitted and one guy was going to sell me something that fits a Berlingo. I looked the part up on his website and it looks like it won't be the one. There are loads of extra wires and plugs that go off toward the wheel.

When I took the old unit out of the car there were only 2 connecting blocks and the aerial.

Even though I tell them the following

XSara Picasso '56

1.6 Petrol (VTX)

Manual Air-con

the old radio is the one with the black buttons

New radio Kenwood BT48DAB

the remote is a stick to RHS of wheel. with 4 functions

I still get answers that involve lots of teeth sucking and get advised to contact an installer.

To get the right adapter what do I need to ask for.

Thanks

Welcome to the forum.

Sorry I can not advise which adaptor you need but you should check in your handbook which functions the old radio did through the Menu button since these will be lost. Usually these are things like setting the date and time, some headlight settings, rear wiper settings, language and units. It is also possible the car may give a fault code. Is the new radio working apart from the remote on the steering column ?
