dobo Posted March 20, 2015 Posted March 20, 2015 I have somehow managed to deactivate the automatic headlight on, I have gone in to the menu on the radio and scrolled to the section which says Automatic headlights deactivated, can anyone tell me how to ACTIVATE the automatic headlights, as I drive a lot in spain and these work great when going thru tunnels (It is illegal to go through tunnels without headlights on) One i have the automatic headights deactivated highlighted what button do I press, as I tried every button and none seem to return to headlight activated symbol. Is there a trick like engine turned off or engine running when trying to activate. Thanks in anticipation Quote
paul.h Posted March 20, 2015 Posted March 20, 2015 On our 2004 C5 it involved something like holding in the button on the end of the indicator stalk until a message is given auto lights are activated. The ignition may need to be on and possibly the engine running. However, in the handbook for a 2008 C8 it gives: Automatic lighting of headlampsSidelamps and dipped beams come on automatically in conditions of poor ambient light or when the wipers are in continuous operation. They go out as soon as light is sufficient again or after the wipers have stopped. An activation/deactivation of this function is possible in the menu "Personalisation-Configuration" of the "Main Menu". Note: Activation of this function is immediate, whereas deactivation requires the ignition to be switched off.Never obstuct the brightness sensor, which is located at the bottom of the windscreen, on the inside. Why do people who put computers in cars not realise that not everyone is computer wiz kids! what has vehicle parameters got to do with lighting, never mind, hope this is of some use to others Quote
paul.h Posted March 21, 2015 Posted March 21, 2015 Well done, sounds as if the handbook is just about right on how to do it but not written with enough instructions to be able to follow it. Quote
