aspotofbother Posted April 9, 2015 Posted April 9, 2015 Hi guys,I am currently replacing the fan/aux belt on my 2001 1.9d dispatch. I notice that the crankshaft pulley wobbles. Is this an issue? I'm assuming it is, and am wondering what I can do to rectify this, if anything?!Many thanks in advance Quote
Johndouglas Posted April 9, 2015 Posted April 9, 2015 Is it a dual mass pulley ie: is it an inner and outer disc bonded together with a ring of rubber? The pulleys on the HDI engine are like that and over time the rubber gets tired and eventually falls apart. Quote
aspotofbother Posted April 9, 2015 Author Posted April 9, 2015 Thanks, no it Is not dual mass, as far as I can see. Think it might be whatever the pulley is attached to? Worried it might be crankshaft issue tbh. Quote
Johndouglas Posted April 10, 2015 Posted April 10, 2015 Yes - I had my doubts that it was a dual mass pulley that was fitted. So has yours four bolts or just one holding the pulley. Quote
coastline taxis Posted April 11, 2015 Posted April 11, 2015 if you have any doubts whatsoever about the crankshaft pully then change it because if it fails it will take the fan belt and possibly the timming belt with it. Id be changing the pully Quote
