Charles1 Posted May 23, 2015 Posted May 23, 2015 Hello Yesterday I've encountered a problem with my c4. I haven't used it for 3 days and when I started the car I noticed the wipers are only working on highest speed. I have 2008 C4 with auto wipers/headlights. Symptoms:- wipers work only on highest speed- when I switch from highest to lower speed the wiper just stop without returning to idle position- washers work fine- when I push down the wiper lever to auto position - display says something like (basic text display) "automatic wiper mode - active - automatic wiper mode" So it repeats automatic wiper text line beneath telling weather it is active or inactive I tried to reset BSI but everything remained the sameI tried to remove shunt fuse for 20 mins but everything remained the same.I went to citroen dealership but they couldn't find any errors on Lexia and told me to return on Monday because on Saturday there aren't any technicians working Only thing i didn't try is to disconnect comm 2000 i try to reset it (i don't know the procedure for that) I am trying to avoid paying for expensive comm 2000 part or something like that if it is possible to solve anything with resetting or something similar Does anyone have an idea what could this be? paul.h Posted May 23, 2015 Posted May 23, 2015 Welcome to the forum. Rather than a bsi/comm 2000 problem it could be a problem with the wiper motor or its electrical connector or its wiring. To get at the motor the plastic scuttle below the windscreen needs removing and this is covered by the Haynes manual for the C4. If after checking the wiring and electrical connector it still does not work correctly, a new wiper motor and the linkage on it are about £240 so you may be better trying for a used one. The Citroen part no. may be 6405R0 but this should be checked using your VIN. Also have a look at this from the C5 Common Problems pinned topic:43. New C5 (X7) front wipers not working properly. Before replacing one of the 2 wiper motors, it may be possible to do a fix to the motor wiring pins - see this topic from c5vtr http://www.citroen-o...x7-wiper-motor/ Quote
Charles1 Posted May 23, 2015 Author Posted May 23, 2015 Maybe it's coincidental , but before this wiper malfunction i could sense strange feedback when turning the steering wheel - something like a noiseless klunk/stuck every 30 degrees on both sides, but now turning is completely smooth without any vibration. I also noticed when i put the lever in highest speed while the ignition is turned off and then start the car, the lever is completely without any response regardeless of position. If I put the lever back to off and left the car turned off for 15 mins, the lever starts responding in highest speed again and pulling the lever down on auto can be seen on display again (but without any reaction from wipers) Quote

paul.h Posted May 25, 2015 Posted May 25, 2015 This is from the C3 section and includes a comms 2000 reset procedure but I do not know if it will help since it sounds as if something has broken27.
