Today I fitted a split CV boot kit to the N/S inner CV joint. The spec wasn't spot on for my relay but it was close.

Kit was a Bailcast CVS18

I trimmed off the smallest end leaving the 35mm size and trimmed off the largest leaving the 83-97 size.

I fitted the CV boot around the driveshaft and glued the edges together for about 2cm, stretching it a little, held it for a minute, then it fitted snugly around the driveshaft.

I glued the rest of the seam together about 2cm each time until the halves of the boot were fitted together.

I then cut the old boot away but could not get the securing ring off the CV end. It appeared to be made of steel and not Ali like the other end. I cut the boot away from the CV joint using the knife provided and put the new boot over this and secured it with the supplied bands.

All in all took about 40mins, not the 20 quoted in the video on you tube.

Very impressed and an easy job on a sunny day.

With hindsight, I would have left the larger size on to go over what was left of the old CV boot.

Not sure how fast the glue would go off in the winter. Could use activator as the glue supplied is black flexible superglue (cyanoacrylate).

Welcome to the forum and thanks for the post. I have never tried the split cv boots, perhaps you may give an update in the future on how well it is lasting.
