Hi all,

Yes joined after buying our second Citroen, we have a C4 VTR and just purchased a C5 on 2010 plate VTR+ Nav 1.6 tourer. The car is great to drive and I'm getting familiar with the myway SAT NAFF, 5 digit postcode is rubbish 😀 so using GPS cords to get anywhere.

Have a couple of issue which are minor, first one is the lacquer on the drives door interior door handle is coming off anyone know a fix apart from changing the door card completely and the other is the AUX port in the glovebox one had 2 ports (White & yellow) and no 3.5mm jack....I have lead that converts this to 3.5mm jack and that works but it means I have cables everywhere so any tips or additional units advise would be great, and I can't find any USB port in the armrest which the manual says I should have.

Thanks in advance

Welcome to the forum.

The paint coming off the door handles is common, Citroen only sell the complete door card so it has been suggested the handles could be painted again - or left since it will probably come off again.

A look in a 2010 sales brochure lists the usb socket as only being on the exclusive model.

For the 1.6 hdi, make sure the oil and filter are changed frequently and the correct oil is used to help the turbo last since they have a reputation for early failure. On the C5 technical section there is a pinned topic of common problems to have a look at and one is the steering rack oil seals failing. So if from a dealer with a warranty have a look to see if any of these apply.

Thanks for the update the 12 mth warranty covers the steering rack so that's good ...the intrerior door handles I'll live with . I've just bought an extension for the 12 volt in the boot so,I'll run this into the cab and run the iPod off this so we don't lose any 12v for kids etc.

I've just updated the SAT Nav maps still think it's crazy they don't do 7 digit postal codes but I understand why ...gps cords work nicely mind
