monimonsta Posted June 16, 2015 Posted June 16, 2015 Hi, My spare remote key did'nt work (to lock/unlock) after not beeing used for over a year. When I start the engine with the spare remote key the PLIP BATTERY SPENT comes up on the screen. I thought it might be the battery problem so I exchange the batteries with my primary remote key but it still didn't work... So then I read the owners' manual and googled everything online to search the problem, found out that I had to re-initialise the remote keys. I did that, thankfully it worked. But, the PLIP BATTERY SPENT just won't disappear! And it's also happening to my primary key which was working perfectly fine before all this. Even after changing brand new batteries for both of the remotes the message just won't go away! :( Can someone please respond to this ASAP as I am handing the car to the new buyer tomorrow. I needed to get fixed :( Quote
paul.h Posted June 16, 2015 Posted June 16, 2015 Welcome to the forum. If you are lucky the message may clear after a few starts but a search has shown other people have changed batteries and the message did not clear but no solution appears to have been found. You might consider checking the battery voltage in one of the remotes in case the new battery also has a low voltage or check its connections are clean. Quote
