paul.h Posted June 28, 2015 Posted June 28, 2015 Welcome to the forum, a bit more info is needed. Is the noise from the outside or inside of the car and is it from the front or the back and which side of the car ? What are you pushing that makes the noise ? Does it make the noise when going over bumps or when turning ? Possibilites can include a suspension joint, an anti roll bar drop link, loose exhaust, seat belt stalk, steering column bearing, loose bits in the dash, door hinge or strap needing oiling, etc. Quote
Angela36 Posted June 29, 2015 Author Posted June 29, 2015 It's a creaking sound on the passenger side every time I turn right , the car feels very bouncy when I go over bumps , if I push down on the bonnet then the boot it feels very springy ... I thought it could be suspension Quote
paul.h Posted June 29, 2015 Posted June 29, 2015 If it bounces more than it used to, then the shock absorbers may need renewing. Have a look at them for any oil weeping down them and if any is found they should be renewed. Another test is to push the car down on each corner in turn, let go and then that corner should bounce up and then down a bit once and stop - if it bounces more times than this then the shock absorbers need renewing. However, the shock absorbers may not be making the noise at the front left corner, it is more likely to be wear in the anti roll bar drop link or the suspension arm ball joint or maybe the bearing at the top of the shock absorber or possibly the suspension coil spring has broken (a common problem on many cars and Citroen will often replace them free if you ask and the car is less than about 80k miles). If the car is due for the MOT test all these things are checked so if it is due you could leave it until then. If it is not due and you do not do your own maintenance, then it will need taking to a dealer or other garage you trust to be checked and repaired. Quote
