11esprit Posted July 2, 2015 Posted July 2, 2015 Hi, I was wondering if anyone can help me with this. I have a 2010 C5 Saloon with an issue of water ingress into the drivers footwell during heavy rain or when I use a carwash. I have noticed after coming out of carwash you can hear water moving around somewhere between the back of the centre console and the engine bay but not sure on exactly the reason for this to happen or if it is related to water drainage. The ingress is not visible instantly it seems to build up slowly. I have checked all the door/ window seals and they all seem ok. I am hoping someone else has had the same issue and could let me know if they managed to fix the issue. Quote
paul.h Posted July 2, 2015 Posted July 2, 2015 Welcome to the forum. This is from the C5 Technical section Common Problems pinned topic: 12. Wet driver's footwell, mark 1 C5 (2001 TO 2004 model) and mark 3 C5 (2008 on model).Rain from the windscreen and the middle grommet of the wiper arm drips in to the cabin air intake, runs down the inside of the cabin firewall and soaks the carpet. It is a bad design of the air intake, not carried over to the mark 2 C5. I fixed this on our hatchback by putting a plate under the wiper grommet over the air intake to direct water away, put holes in the air intake to drain water before reaching the firewall, used lots of sealant behind the holes and at the firewall. This problem has also been reported on the mark 3 C5 - see this topic http://www.citroen-o...ter-getting-in/ Quote
