At the start of May, I sold my E34 M5 and as part of the deal I was to deliver the car to its new owner near Birmingham and on the way back up the road my girlfriend and I stopped to have a look at this wee car. As a young petrolhead in the 90s, I was taken to school in a Citroen ZX TD Aura but really wanted it to be the top of the range model that everyone seems to forget about - the 2.0i 16v. I said I would own one someday. When I went to buy my first hot hatch at 18 the Mk2 Golf GTI was more popular and easier to insure so my hot hatch phase was spent on the Mk2. I have been keeping an eye on these ZX's in recent years and they are so hard to find, being only 11 of them left on the road!!! This one came up for sale and I had been in contact with the owner and so I gave him a ring and we went to his house after delivering the M5. I was amazed at the car's condition, being a french hatch i knew it must have rust and ripples galore but it doesn't. Details are:

1994 Citroen ZX 2.0i 16v 3dr
90k
Full History
155bhp model

After driving it i was hooked. Such sharp turn in and the engine loves to rev. So I bought it! The day after I got it I had to do the journey down to the boat at Cairnryan from near Ayr along the coast road then up through Northern Ireland to home, and it was so much fun!!

Its got a couple of wee issues that need sorting but nothing major, I don't plan to do much to it as it is completely original and standard.

I gave it a quick detail in June before taking it to Ballymena CarFest so took a few pictures, was very pleased with how the paint came up:

The issues are that the ABS light is on, is this a common fault and is it easy fixed? Do I need to replace the whole ABS unit or just a sensor?

Welcome to the forum.

Your car looks good. The abs light could be a wheel sensor, wiring, a sensor target fault such as dirt or cracked, possibly the abs pump. This link shows how to check the sensors http://www.ehow.com/how_7617532_test-wheel-speed-sensor.html

It would be worthwhile asking a dealer if they are able to do a diagnostic check on it to see what the fault is if you can not see anything obvious.
