Ray Blue Sky Posted September 15, 2015 Posted September 15, 2015 (edited) Hi Folks, I have a general question about starting a 2007 petrol C2, we have had this car for 7 years and its started first time everytime! We have it for sale and I have given it plenty of TLC so the new owner will be happy...The first person to test drive it gets in and cant start it, me and the wife are aghast and he gets out and I get in and it starts no problem... He gets back in and once again it wont start, it turns out myself being and older driver I always press the accelerator down a little and so does my wife. The question is should the C2 petrol 1.1 engine fire up without pushing down the accelerator? The consensus of opinion is very mixed when talking to other drivers... some say yes and others say why would you need to press the accelerator. I thought the best way to find out was post here and maybe find a solution before I start taking the carb apart, Cheers for any input and help Ray Edited September 15, 2015 by Ray Blue Sky Quote
paul.h Posted October 3, 2015 Posted October 3, 2015 The handbook will advise on how the car should be started but it could be the throttle plate needs a clean to remove any carbon build up. Quote
