Hi, I have had many issues with this car on and off but it is a great car when it works.

Over the last year it has had a chug at low rpm that clears if you floor it, I was putting it down to coil pack on way out. How ever over the last few weeks it has broken down when it gets in traffic or if you leave it run at normal engine temp. Once it stops you try to restart it again but it will only run for a few seconds. If you leave it cool down for a few hours it will start up and drive as normal. How ever it went in for mot where it had a moment and I think they killed the battery and stuck a boost charger on it. The car now is only starting for a few seconds and dies, the dia says main fuse/relay immobilzer enabled it also say Ecu internal fault. How ever I have been told this maybe false as it is not getting power to it. If anyone has any clues on the issue as I have been through the fuse boxes to the point of removing them and inspecting them I have had the the under bonnet bsm fuse box tested eg relays and general components. There is nothing showing in the main screen and the key light on dash is off so I know the key is working ok had a new battery in it and tested with my spare key also.

I should of put car details citreon c5 exclusive estate petrol 2lt 16valve year 2003.

Cutting out when hot but once cooled down then being ok could be a sign of a crankshaft sensor failing and these may not give a fault code.

Only running for a few seconds may be a fuel fault so possibly low fuel pressure, maybe a pressure sensor or high pressure fuel pump fault. On a diagnostic you could check the fuel pressure. Also see if there is a fuel filter and if it has been replaced.
