Hi, i have recently bought the new citroen c1. The biting point on the clutch is very high and almost at the top if the clutch so very easy to stall. Each of the pedals also feels quite light with little resistance. I have taken it to a citroen garage and they said all the new cars are like this and the clutch is non adjustable. Has anyone else experienced this? Or managed to get it adjusted?

Thankyou

Welcome to the forum.

When we got our first C3 we found the clutch pedal had a high biting point and others on here have also made similar comments when first getting the C3. It just took a bit of getting used to. The pedal height is not adjustable. Similarly the brake pedal requires very little effort to apply the brakes and again it just took time to get used to. I would think these comments will apply to the C1 so in a few days hopefully you will be used to the pedals and then think there was something wrong with your old car.

Thankyou for your reply. I am a new driver and its my first car so also a little nervous on the road. As you say, give it some time and i'll get used to it but good to know its not just me and others have noticed this too! :)

Thankyou

Looking through the procedures for an older C1 than yours, it says the clutch pedal should be 135 to 145 mm above the floor, measured at right angles to the angled floor below the pedal and to the top of the middle of the pedal rubber. Since the clutch is cable operated, if it is not at this height then it can be adjusted using a screw and locknut near the top of the pedal. Then if the pedal is pushed down, there should be 18 to 28 mm before any resistance is felt - if this is not correct then the cable can be adjusted at the gearbox end.
