Tonyc5 Posted October 20, 2015 Posted October 20, 2015 Hi Guys I have just purchased a c5 2006 1.6 VTX+ Nav , I love it, it has hands free but I have to keep removing my sim card from my phone and placing it in the head unit, which is most inconvenient, is there any way of up grading it to work via Bluetooth, also I have one more question my sat nav wont accept post codes can this be upgraded at all to accept post code searches. Thanks in advance Quote
paul.h Posted October 21, 2015 Posted October 21, 2015 I have no idea about bluetooth but not accepting post codes seems to apply to all Citroen sat navs. We have a 2007 C5 vtx with the sat nav and I usually start with the town, then the street and then ok it. If just going somewhere I already know, I still often put in a town and ok it without bothering with a street just to see if the roads have a reported delay and these are then shown on the map. Quote
seefive Posted October 24, 2015 Posted October 24, 2015 I use a dedicated sim card on a PAYG tariff, and set my mobile to forward to the car phone if not answered. That has the added benefit of displaying all incoming call numbers, which the main unit doesn't do (can't display land line numbers) I use the car phone to make calls. There are bespoke bluetooth options (Dension etc), but they involve MP3 readers which use the cd multichanger slot, quite fiddly to fit The sat nav falls a long way short of modern units - i use a Garmin ( recently posted a report on this) Regards Quote
