jay_uk Posted November 9, 2015 Posted November 9, 2015 Just got myself a second hand 2007 1.6 HDi with 75000 miles on the clock. I'm really happy with it but have noticed a couple of problems. The headlamp manual height adjuster doesn't work, annoying as they are pointing quite low. The mirrors I believe are supposed to be heated but they are not getting hot. Also the mirror adjuster for both mirrors on the drivers door doesn't work. I looked in the manual to see if it is a fuse problem but can't find anything mentioning headlamps or mirrors. In the fuse box in the glove box there is a thick red wire not connected. Don't know if this has anything to do with it. Ive attached a picture. Quote
paul.h Posted November 11, 2015 Posted November 11, 2015 From the Common Problems topic:- If the car has self levelling headlights the load sensor can fail and the lights point down.Arak81 has also reported problems with the headlight aim http://www.citroen-owners-club.co.uk/citroen/topic/23208-headlight-dipped-focus-adjustment-c4-16hdi/ The switches on the driver's door can fail so it is possible there is a problem with the mirror switch or possibly the wiring such as between the door and body. Does the heated rear window work since this may be switched on at the same time as the mirrors. It is also possible the mirrors are not heated ones and to check may need a mirror glass removing. A sales brochure from 2005 says the heated mirrors are on exclusive and VTS models but not on LX/VT/VTR+/SX/VTR models. The red wire looks as if the previous owner has put it in since the connection on it does not look like a Citroen one. Quote

However, when I first switch the lights on they do move slightly. The switches on the driver's door can fail so it is possible there is a problem with the mirror switch or possibly the wiring such as between the door and body. I have found the 2006 sales brochure listing the the different options between each of the variants. I have the "Cool" edition, and according to the brochure it does not have heated or folding mirrors. So that's that problem solved! Quote
paul.h Posted November 12, 2015 Posted November 12, 2015 Arak81 sorted his headlight adjuster switch by replacing some bulbs, have a look at his topic http://www.citroen-owners-club.co.uk/citroen/topic/23190-headlight-levelling-is-not-working-where-is-the-fuse-for-it/ Quote
