steveharman Posted November 23, 2015 Posted November 23, 2015 Hi, We're looking to purchase a 2003-2006 C3 with traction control. Trouble is I'm not sure how to confirm whether it's fitted in cars we look at. Would there be a switch, light, button or other way could use to tell? As I understand it traction control was never standard on a C3, but only available as option? Thanks in advance. Steve Quote
paul.h Posted November 23, 2015 Posted November 23, 2015 Welcome to the forum. We had a 2003 1.4 petrol SX and that did not have esp (electronic stability programme) but I never had any problem with skidding and it was one of our better cars for driving/setting off in the snow (with normal careful driving in such conditions), better than our 1.6 hdi 110 bhp C4. In a 2006 sales brochure for the C3 only the VTR hdi is listed as having esp as standard. The optional safety pack was available on the exclusive and VTR petrol and it included side window air bags, ESP and traction control. So you could check it is the right model, look for the air bag at the top of the central pillar above the seat belt fastening and on other Citroens with ESP there has been a button on the central console or dash with ESP on for switching it off in snow/slippy conditions so you could set off.
