ashtonw25 Posted November 26, 2015 Posted November 26, 2015 Hello, I have a C3 II 2010 VTR+ with a 1.4 hdi engine. It has currently done 89k miles. It is starting to get a little bit of clutch slip, it was a learner car up until 50k so it's probably due for aclutch.I'm a fairly competent DIYer so i'd like do give it a go myself. Has anybody done one of these and have any tips? Many thanks Will Quote
coastline taxis Posted November 27, 2015 Posted November 27, 2015 pretty bog standard clutch to remove. nothing tricky or hidden just check the dual mass flywheel for signs of wear and replace if needed Quote
ashtonw25 Posted November 28, 2015 Author Posted November 28, 2015 Thanks, I've got the haynes manual for the fiesta with the same engine so that'll give me some guidance. Quote
ashtonw25 Posted November 28, 2015 Author Posted November 28, 2015 How long do the DMFs usually last?I get a bit of clutch judder when setting off but not every time. Also the occasional slippage but I can still get it to stall easily Quote
coastline taxis Posted November 29, 2015 Posted November 29, 2015 Thers seems to be no mileage lifespan on a dual mass. seen them go at 15k before and others do a 140k. I think its down to how quick u let the clutch pedal up Quote
