Welcome to the forum.

The car does take some time to rise, many seconds but not into the tens of seconds. The back rises first and then the front. It will pay to take the car down and up a few times  just to make sure nothing is sticking. Also check the battery voltage is not low and the suspension lds fluid level is correct (lower the car to minimum, switch off the engine, slowly undo and remove the tank cap to let out the air, the fluid level should be just covering the bottom of the filler neck strainer).

sorry for delay/ anyway took your advice lowered car up and down a few times then left it down overnight, in morning checked level still not sure if right, but the fluid is about 3mm above the join/centre of the container. also checked battery 12.3v  when off then 14.4v when running, dont know if that reading is ok for car as it does struggle to start sometimes unlike my old 406 with same engine which always starts first turn. thanks again

The battery voltage before starting seems a bit low so it may need a good charge or replacing if more than a few years old.

To check the lds fluid level you need to remove the cap and inside is a course strainer which extends down inside. The level should be just above the bottom of this strainer when the car suspension is at its lowest setting. I do not know how this level relates to the join on the tank but once checked with the strainer you will know. On later cars the tank is black plastic so the level can not be seen without looking inside.
