Alan3103 Posted December 9, 2015 Posted December 9, 2015 Hi and gday from tropical Queensland Australia,I'm originally from Harrogate Yorkshire and now living in Australia , I've bought myself a c3 pluriel 2006 with 90000 kms on it, it's in VGC but I got it cheap because it has a problem with the sensodrive,I got it from a girl in Port Douglas and managed to get it towed home to Cairns, first thing I did was to try and do a reset so I made sure I had a good battery, followed the procedure doors shut ect foot on brake , brake lights are working so switch is okI was getting a whirring noise from clutch actuator for approx 20 seconds dash display shows auto and starter motor will not kick in? I will also point out that the top display is saying that there is a fault in the anti theft ??? Not sure if this has any bearing on the problem ?? I ended up removing the clutch actuator and found that the worm gear had snapped which allowed the spring in there to fully press the clutch, I am wondering if this might be the reason for non cranking and ultimately starting of engine or could this be one of many issues I might find, I realise that the whirring noise I mentioned earlier must have been the motor just spinning and doing nothing , any help at this stage would be most appreciated , Alan Quote
paul.h Posted December 9, 2015 Posted December 9, 2015 Welcome to the forum. I can not help with the sensodrive but the anti theft fault could be a problem with the immobiliser - possibly the key is not being recognised or maybe the transponder around the ignition switch is faulty or possibly something else. A diagnostic check may be needed to find the problem using a Citroen dealer type Lexia. I would not get in to replacing the ecu or anything else expensive without the proper diagnostic check since others on here have done this and still not fixed the problem. Quote
Alan3103 Posted December 30, 2015 Author Posted December 30, 2015 Thanks for your input Paul , atm I'm waiting on a Lexia clone that I got off the net, I did also think that possibly the key wasn't being recognised?Which I will duly check, further research however leads me to believe that if the clutch actuator is faulty the Ecu cannot determine its position and will not supply power to crank the engine? I think my first step is to renew the actuator and then do a diagnostic check and see what codes it throws at me, It's a worry but I will take one step at time and hopefully I can fix this car ??. paul.h Posted December 30, 2015 Posted December 30, 2015 If you look on the Petrol, Diesel and LPG section there is a pinned topic with links to topics on the Lexia written by simple. These may help when setting it up and using it. Quote
Alan3103 Posted January 17, 2016 Author Posted January 17, 2016 Hi, just to report that i finally fixed my pluriel, i managed to get a second hand drive motor for my clutch actuator,(original one the worm drive had snapped)Bought a lexia , and bought new keys from china, changed the blades so didnt need any to be cut, programmed both keys with lexia,Pre set actuator and refitted to car, i had marked position of actuator before removal , now car starts and seems to drive fine, RESULT !!
