Welcome to the forum.

Is your car the 2003 to 2009 model or the 2009 on model ?

It sounds as if you need a diagnostic session on a Lexia. Chinese copies can be bought for under £100 to put on a lap top. On the C5 section there is a pinned topic of members who are able to help with diagnostics so you could have a look to see if you are not too far from somebody. I have also seen similar topics on other forums if nobody is close enough.

You could also try just disconnecting and reconnecting the battery but do not do it too quickly since the bsi/ecu need time to shut down. The following is from the C3 Common Problems pinned topic:

20. Odd electrical problems caused by wrong battery disconnection procedure.

If you need to disconnect the battery and not do a BSI reset procedure, I have found the following has not given me any problems on a 2004 and 2007 C5 and a 2003 C3:

- remove the ignition key from the car

- open the bonnet

- wait a few minutes for the BSI to shut down

- disconnect the battery negative terminal

When reconnecting

- ignition key out of the car

- reconnect the battery

- wait a few minutes

- insert the key in the ignition and wait a minute

- turn the key to the first position and wait a minute

- turn the key so the dash lights come on and wait a minute

- start the engine

- take the windows down and up to reset the anti pinch

- reset the clock (and radio on the C3).

Hi Paul.h

Thanks for getting back to me

It's a Mk 1 2003 to 2009 it is an exclusive model usual bells and whistles But without cruise

Should my garage have disconnected the battery after trying to reset the cruise

Anyway I'll try that disconnection and procedure 1st

MANY THANKS

SEASONS GREETING TO YOU AND YOURS
