How To Tell Which Spheres Need Replacing?

Hi,

 

I changed all my spheres a few years ago when the ride went rock hard. It's going that way again but, before I just opt for changing the whole lot again, is there a way of telling which ones in particular are on their way out? Or is the recommendation always to do them all?

 

It's a 1.9 TD estate with the bog-standard non-sporty suspension.
