mfos Posted January 25, 2016 Posted January 25, 2016 Hi,I have a 2011 Citroen C5 Vtr + Nav Hdi and recently when accelerating over about 2500 - 3000rpm the revs suddenly start increasing more than they should do without any real acceleration of the car, as if I had the clutch in.Happens more when in 4th and 5th.Car moves off when stationary ok. Something up with the turbo perhaps?Don't have any warnings. Any advice would be very welcome. Thanksm Quote
paul.h Posted January 25, 2016 Posted January 25, 2016 Sounds as if the clutch is slipping, it could be worn out and need replacing. How many miles has it done ? Quote
mfos Posted January 26, 2016 Author Posted January 26, 2016 Nearly 58k. Actually that makes sense. Thanks for your time. Quote
aspire_helen Posted January 26, 2016 Posted January 26, 2016 Sounds like classic clutch slip, but that is very low mileage for any clutch unless its been in city traffic all its life and towed a caravan around the Alps! I wonder if the plates have been contaminated by an oil leak. Ive driven 158,000 in 15 years on the original clutch. Quote
