Can anyone advise. My Sat Nav has lost the plot. It thinks I am lost in the sea just off the coast of Swansea. Is there anyway of resetting the GPS

Welcome to the forum.

In the Navidrive book that came with our 2007 C5, on page 10 there is a footnote - If your Navidrive should malfunction, press for at least 10 seconds on the DARK button to re-initialise the system.

Thanks paul, have done that didn't work. It is strange the clock is blinking, no altitude, no gps. Have gone through all the set up but refuses to move from Swansea Bay.

Next things to try are to check the car battery voltage since if low it can give odd problems on C5s. Before starting the engine it should be about 12.5 volts or a bit higher. If this is ok then try a battery disconnection but do not do it too quickly since the bsi needs time to shutdown. Below is from the C5 Technical section Common Problems pinned topic. If this does not help there is a pinned topic on the C5 Technical section for a bsi reset which might help. If you look at the common problems topic there are a few things to check on your car such as the steering rack for oil leaks.

16. Odd electrical problems caused by wrong battery disconnection procedure.

If you need to disconnect the battery and not do a BSI reset procedure, I have found the following has not given me any problems on a 2004 and 2007 C5 and a 2003 C3:

- remove the ignition key from the car

- open the bonnet

- wait a few minutes for the BSI to shut down

- disconnect the battery negative terminal

When reconnecting

- ignition key out of the car

- reconnect the battery

- wait a few minutes

- insert the key in the ignition and wait a minute

- turn the key to the first position and wait a minute

- turn the key so the dash lights come on and wait a minute

- start the engine

- take the windows down and up to reset the anti pinch

- reset the clock (and radio on the C3).

The following topic on poor radio and gps reception is worth a look http://www.citroen-owners-club.co.uk/citroen/topic/23377-poor-radio-and-gps-reception-antennaaerial-problem/

Hi Paul,

Thanks for the instructions and link. This is a project for when the rain stops as I have no garage. I will let you know how I get on.

Regards

Kev

Hi Paul,

It's been a long time.

I would like to thank you for your information and I can only say it is now working fine again. I just kept playing around with different settings and a new SD card.
