papacarlos Posted January 29, 2016 Posted January 29, 2016 Hi, I have owned my 2012 C3 for nearly two years. It has just developed a fault whereby every time I close the driver door, the central locking immediately locks the car up. This is regardless of whether I am just getting in, or completing a journey. Yesterday, it locked when I got out of the car, having left the keys in the ignition. I had no choice but to call the AA who managed to break in. It would have been a much bigger problem if my baby son was in the back of the car. Obviously I am being much more careful now. Any ideas what the problem might be and whether it will be expensive to fix? The fault seems to have started shortly after getting the car washed. Could this be a factor. If something has got wet, is it likely to resolve itself. Thanks Quote
paul.h Posted January 29, 2016 Posted January 29, 2016 Welcome to the forum. Maybe you could try using the key in the door lock a few times in case the lock has stuck. Does the problem occur if you use the spare key and keep the remote one well away from the car (in case it is a problem with the remote lock button sticking on) ? If it is water in the electrics it may go once it dries out. You could try a bsi reset in case it is an odd glitch that can be cleared. http://www.citroen-owners-club.co.uk/citroen/topic/15093-bsi-reset/ If these do not work it may need a trip to a dealer to do a diagnostic check to find the fault.
