Welcome to the forum.

Once you have the problems fixed you will enjoy your car and apart from a few common problems Citroens are usually reliable.

C5s have a number of common problems and there is a topic worth looking at http://www.citroen-owners-club.co.uk/citroen/topic/20279-common-problems-rev-2012016/ but most of these are for the 2001 to 2008 model, not the 2008 on mark 3 C5 (X7).

The suspension problem could be the height sensors may be sticking and need freeing off by taking the suspension up and down quite a few times. The links on them can also break but then the suspension would stay down at one end.

The suspension and power steering share the same fluid tank and this should only be topped up using Total LDS fluid which is an orange colour. If the level is low due to the steering leak this will affect the suspension. To check the level the suspension should be put in the lowest position, then switch off the engine and slacken the lds tank cap. Some pressure will be released and then it can be fully removed. The level should be just at the bottom of the tank neck strainer.

Failure of the seals on the steering rack are a common problem needing the rack to be replaced. The column input shaft seal fails, possibly due to rust build up on the shaft. The pipe connections to the rack can leak but new seals are not available without the pipes. All these are expensive so make the most of any warranty.

The front wiper motors can fail due to water ingress - there are 2 motors, one for each side. Again these are expensive.

Check the battery voltage since if low this can give odd electrical problems including the electric parking brake not working (this will be in the handbook somewhere). Before starting the engine it should be about 12.5 volts or a bit higher. Considering the battery may be 7 years old it is due for replacement.
