jopo001 Posted February 1, 2016 Posted February 1, 2016 The rear parking sensors don't seem to work properly so think the brackets that hold them may be broken. How are they held on and more to the point does anyone have a procedure for removing bumper to get at them? ThanksJP Quote
paul.h Posted February 1, 2016 Posted February 1, 2016 There is a lug top and bottom of the sensors that locates in clips on the bumper. The sensors may all be part no. 6590QS (front and back sensors) and in this link you can see one of the small lugs at the bottom of the sensor http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Genuine-New-Citroen-C4-DS5-Peugeot-208-Reverse-Parking-Sensor-6590QS-/252137188710 On our 2007 C5 you can access the rear sensors without removing the bumper but if you need to remove the DS5 one then from Citroens procedures first you may need to remove 2 covers under the back of the car (these alone may allow you to look at the sensors) and then on the bumper there are 4 clips to remove at the lower edge, a bolt at each side from the wheel arch and then it needs unclipping at the wheel arches and the top edge. At the wheel arches you may need to part/fully remove the wheel arch liners to get at the fasteners. Quote
jopo001 Posted May 12, 2016 Author Posted May 12, 2016 So i have got the broken brackets off but cant find a replacement and citroen are also not much help. They "think" its a part that they dont stock and is special order only, can only order the 4 and its 150ish quid for them ........ which has to be paid before ordering and is non-returnable since its special order so not keen on ordering from them since they cant for definate say its right ...... hopefully below image works, its my broken one http://i1297.photobucket.com/albums/ag29/jopo001/Mobile%20Uploads/20160512_122357_zpscta9mdxx.jpg Quote
paul.h Posted May 13, 2016 Posted May 13, 2016 From the parts diagrams it looks as if the bumper skirt might possibly include the sensor mountings already fastened on since these do not appear separately. The skirt might be part no. 1606389180 or 1606389280 but this should be checked using your VIN. Did you have to break the mountings off the bumper ? You can look at the parts diagrams as a free service if you register on service.citroen as other professional non emergency services and as a member of the Citroen Owners Club http://service.citroen.com/do/changerParametres You may need to select your language first but once on use your VIN (VIS) top left to find your car. The sensors appear under electrical and the bumpers under bodywork. Quote
jopo001 Posted July 21, 2016 Author Posted July 21, 2016 Got it plugged in as still have to parking fault and system shows - interior left wrong install - what will this be and how do i fix it? Quote
paul.h Posted July 21, 2016 Posted July 21, 2016 What are you using to get the message - interior left wrong install ? If it is a Chinese Lexia copy then there have been reports that sometimes these can affect the programming of the parking sensors requiring them to be reprogrammed. This is from the C5 Common Problems topic:35. Front parking sensors do not work after using a Lexia to check for a rear sensor fault. It has been reported a few times that after using a copy Lexia to diagnose a rear parking sensor fault, and then replacing the faulty rear sensor, the rears then work but the front then do not work. The cause is a glitch in the Lexia messing up the sensor programming which then needs to be redone using different equipment. See this post http://www.citroen-o...t-strange-this/ Quote
