danbakery Posted February 6, 2016 Posted February 6, 2016 Hi guys, been looking very in depth about heater problems but found no solution that accommodated to my problem. Have checked the fuses in the driver's footwell and found none blown. Have tested the fan outside of the car to a 12V battery and it works. The only problem found is that there is no voltage between the black and red wires on the multi plug to the actual fan. My heated rear windscreen does seem to be working so the ignition problem shouldn't apply(?) Is there another fuse or relay that I am unaware of? Model is 1997 1.9TD Xsara (non air con). Anyone got any idea what direction I can go next? Thanks, Quote
paul.h Posted February 6, 2016 Posted February 6, 2016 Welcome to the forum. This topic may help since it could be the blower resistor speed control that is faulty http://www.citroen-owners-club.co.uk/citroen/topic/23020-heater-fanblower/ Quote
danbakery Posted February 23, 2016 Author Posted February 23, 2016 Ok have an update on the problem. Turns out the car has air conditioning for a start. Checked a lot of feeds and thought the heater control switch was broken, got a replacement off ebay and to no avail (fortunately could return it.) The heated rear screen definately works so this would make me believe it's the transistor on the heater that's broken? When everything is plugged in and together it does feel like there is small air flow but not really powered out by the heater itself whereas when it's all uplugged when I am working on it and I'm driving along nothing really comes through. Bit skeptical going out and buying a new heater as they are like 30 pounds to 50 pounds. Quote
