Just purchased a C3 VT pre reg. Very happy with the car. During test drive salesman told us the radio was DAB / FM / AM / CD. Had a good discussion as my wife was looking forward to Absolute 80s on DAB.

Got the car home and started to play with radio - only to find it isn't actually a DAB radio. I have complained back to the dealership who have said there is an aftermarket DAB radio but it isn't very good and has to have a new aerial glued to inside of window. Haven't agreed / disagreed with them yet - just said I would explore my options and get back to them.

Citroen C3 brochure talks of a DAB upgrade - an AutoDAB and an EZI-DAB - not sure which are compatible as an upgrade. I just want to understand my options before going back to dealership to argue.

Would be grateful if anyone is able to offer guidance on my options.

Many thanks

Welcome to the forum.

It looks as if adding to your existing radio could be expensive, the Ezi-dab and harness are going to be around £250 to £300 and look as if it fastens to the dash somewhere. You would expect a discount from the dealer though since you were possibly mislead but anyway, buying the car from them should give you quite a bit off. http://www.letchworth.citroen.co.uk/after-sales/accessory-selector/ezi-dab-digital-radio-upgrade-kit-1706/

alternative supplier with more info http://www.advanced-incar.co.uk/alpine-ezi-dab-dab-interface-for-headunits

The auto dab one looks as if it will be a similar cost and has an aerial stuck on the windscreen  http://www.advanced-incar.co.uk/digital-radio-dab/citroen-autodab-digital-dab-radio

You could also look into the option of replacing the radio completely but this might give problems with the car.

A windscreen aerial may not give best reception and an external one may be needed, see this topic http://www.citroen-owners-club.co.uk/citroen/topic/23211-interference-from-alpine-ezi-dab-with-emyway/

Looking at the autodab site, they quote oem version for C3 to 2009 only, but no end date on the  aftermarket version.

Aftermarket is actually better, as it is controlled from steering wheel controls and connected between the car radio wiring and the radio via quadlock connection.

The OEM version is wired into the fusebox and controlled by a separate remote.
