Citroen C2 Engine Cut Out

My Citroen C2 1.4 Diesel cuts out , I can go 10 yards sometimes upto a mile and then it cuts out, turn the key over it starts back up, same again can go a few yards or upto 100 yards and so on and so on,

Can anybody help and has anybody experienced the same problem

Is the servicing up to date including replacing the fuel filter ? Is the engine management light lit up ?

The fuel filter was changed last year and engine management light does come on when it cuts out but when you restart it it goes out again .

An internet search came up with a few possibilities to check. The 3rd one below, damaged wiring, would be a good one to check first.
